The range covers 20kg bags of washed sand, blue metal, road base and drainage gravel, bagged garden soil and potting mix, fertiliser, and cement, concrete, mortar and rapid-set mixes. For a large garden bed, driveway or slab, the bulk version of the same material, sold by the cubic metre, usually works out cheaper.

When should I buy bagged instead of bulk?
Bags suit small jobs, repairs and places a truck can’t reach. As a rough guide, once a job needs more than about 20 bags of the same material, bulk by the cubic metre is usually cheaper and quicker to handle.
How much does a 20kg bag cover?
A 20kg bag of sand or gravel is roughly 0.013 cubic metres, which covers about 0.25 square metres at 50mm deep. Check the product page for the exact pack size.
How many bags of concrete mix do I need for a post?
A typical fence post hole takes one to two 20kg bags of concrete mix, depending on the hole’s depth and diameter.
