Which thickness should I use?
9mm suits wall lining, drawer bases and lighter panels. 16mm gives the rigidity needed for cabinet carcasses and shelving that has to carry weight.
Can MDF be used outside?
No. Standard MDF is an internal product. It swells when it gets wet and should be kept inside the building envelope.
What is the 3mm sheeting for?
It is laid over a finished floor to protect it from foot traffic, dropped tools and spills while other trades are still working, then lifted once the job is done.
