Every tiling job depends on the bond between tile and substrate, and the right adhesive changes with tile size, surface and whether the tiles go on a wall or floor. Tile adhesives come as cement based powders, ready to use mastics and two-part systems.
Flexible cement based adhesives carry S1 or S2 in their names, such as Mapei Ultralite S1 Flex in white or grey, Mapei Keraflex Maxi S1 and FlexBond Lite S2. For general tiling, Davco APA All Purpose, Davco Grey One Pot and Davco Ceramaflex are options, while Davco Supamastic Interior and Ardex D2 Wall Tile Adhesive suit indoor and wall work. Two-part choices include Mapei Keralastic T polyurethane adhesive and the Ardex Optima kit, with SikaTile adhesives adding further options.
