Description
Sikafloor-01 Primer is a concentrated synthetic resin primer designed to be applied before cement and gypsum-type flooring and tiling systems, enhancing bond strength between the substrate and subsequent Sikafloor, SikaBond, Sikadur, SikaTile or Davco materials. Being solvent-free and EMICODE EC1 Plus certified for very low VOC emissions makes it a genuinely low-emission choice, without giving up penetration into porous concrete.
Its dilution rate changes with the substrate: 1 litre of primer to 3 litres of water for concrete and cement-based screeds, applied neat over timber, wood, CFC and Scyon. That versatility across both porous concrete and raw timber substrates is what lets one product cover a mixed-substrate job rather than needing a separate primer for each material.

Where to Use
- Internal and external concrete surfaces before flooring and tiling systems
- Internal cement or calcium sulphate levelling compounds and screeds

How to Apply
- Choose the correct dilution — 1:3 with water for concrete and cement-based substrates, neat for timber, wood, CFC or Scyon.
- Apply by broom or roller — one coat on normal steel-trowelled concrete, two coats on very porous or mechanically prepared concrete.
- Allow the correct waiting time — from around 10-20 minutes per coat on normal absorbent substrates, up to 24 hours on calcium sulphate substrates primed with a cement-based levelling compound.
- Apply the flooring or tiling system — once the waiting time for the specific substrate has passed.
Important Notes
- Store in a cool, dry place, not below +5°C; material mixed with water should be used within a week.
- Non-combustible and solvent-free according to TRGS 610.

Getting the dilution rate right matters more than it might seem: too weak a mix under-primes a porous slab and risks poor bond for whatever flooring or levelling compound follows, while applying it neat where dilution was called for wastes product without adding real benefit. The two-mode system — diluted for absorbent cementitious substrates, neat for timber-based ones — reflects how differently those materials draw the primer in, and following the correct mode for the substrate at hand is what makes the difference between a primer that genuinely improves bond and one that’s just a formality.
