Sikafloor-4020 FiberLevel is a fibre-reinforced, fast-drying self-levelling and smoothing compound for internal floors ahead of tiles or timber. It applies from 3 to 20mm thick and is ready for light foot traffic after around 2 hours.

Description

Sika’s Sikafloor-4020 FiberLevel is a fibre-reinforced, fast-drying self-levelling and smoothing compound for internal floors. The fibres in the mix help it bridge minor substrate movement and hold together at the thicker end of its 3 to 20mm application range, which is useful when levelling an uneven concrete slab or timber floor ahead of tiles.

It is a preparation layer, not a finished floor. Once dry it becomes the substrate for tiling or other coverings, and it is not intended to be left exposed as a trafficable surface. The fast-drying formulation means a tiler can move from levelling to tiling in the same working day rather than losing a day to a slower-curing compound, which matters on programme-driven commercial jobs as much as it does for a homeowner wanting the job finished quickly.

Technical Specifications

Where to Use

  • Levelling and smoothing concrete floors ahead of tiles or floor coverings
  • Timber, CFC sheeting and Scyon substrates that are firmly fixed and dimensionally stable
  • Fast-track jobs needing a quick-drying preparation layer
  • Not recommended as a trafficable wearing surface on its own

Coverage

Thickness Coverage per 12L mixed
3mm Approx. 4 m²

How to Apply

  1. Check the substrate — it must be permanently dry, structurally sound, clean, and show no signs of delamination or movement; timber substrates need to be firmly fixed and dimensionally stable.
  2. Mix — combine 4.3 to 4.4 litres of clean water with the 20kg bag to a smooth, lump-free consistency.
  3. Pour and level — place within the roughly 20 minute pot life and allow it to self-level at the required thickness, 3 to 20mm.
  4. Allow to dry — light traffic after around 2 hours; allow a further minimum 2 hours’ drying before tiling.

Important Notes

  • All relevant AU/NZ standards for the substrate type must be followed alongside this datasheet.
  • Timber, CFC sheeting and Scyon substrates must be firmly fixed, permanently dry and dimensionally stable before application.
  • Not recommended as a final trafficable wearing surface.

Frequently asked questions

How thick can Sikafloor-4020 FiberLevel be applied?

From 3mm up to 20mm in a single layer. The fibre reinforcement helps the compound hold together across that range without cracking.

How long before I can walk on it?

Light foot traffic is fine after roughly 2 hours. Before tiling, the surface needs to dry for at least 2 hours minimum beyond that, so allow more time on cooler or humid days.

Can Sikafloor-4020 FiberLevel be used over timber substrates?

Yes, along with CFC sheeting and Scyon, provided the substrate is firmly fixed, dimensionally stable, permanently dry and shows no signs of delamination or movement, and all relevant AU/NZ standards for the installation are followed.
