About Environex Sealers
Environex makes sealers and protective coatings for natural stone, pavers, masonry and concrete. The products differ in how they work. Penetrating sealers soak into the surface and keep a natural look, while others darken the surface or give a wet look. Match the sealer to the material and the finish you want.
Environex Premium Bluestone Sealer is a natural penetrating sealer developed for bluestone and other natural stone and masonry, for internal and external use. Tuscan TSL is an almost invisible penetrating sealer for terracotta, travertine, sandstone, granite, marble and clay or concrete pavers, and may slightly enhance the colour. Synergy combines a consolidator, which hardens porous or crumbly masonry, with a penetrating sealer, and Environex formulated it for stain and salt protection around swimming pools. Hi-Lite is a semi-penetrating, solvent based sealer that darkens pavers without making them shiny, and is not suitable for honed or polished surfaces. Endure is a blend of acrylic resins for coarse stone, masonry and concrete that gives a wet look.
Graffiti Shield F is a water based coating that protects building surfaces from permanent defacement by spray cans and felt pens. Test any sealer on a small area first.

Which Environex sealer keeps a natural look?
Choose a penetrating sealer. Premium Bluestone Sealer keeps bluestone’s natural colour and texture, and Tuscan TSL is almost invisible, though it may slightly enhance the colour of pavers. Endure and Hi-Lite are different: Endure gives a wet look and Hi-Lite darkens pavers, so choose those only if you want the colour or finish to change.
When can I seal new pavers?
Let them dry thoroughly first. For Endure, Environex advises leaving newly laid pavers or stone for about 14 days before sealing, and allowing a further 2 to 3 days of drying if the surface has been cleaned. The surface must be completely clean, and hydrochloric acid should not be used on slate. Check the instructions for the specific sealer you are using.
Will a sealer make pavers slippery?
Any product on a walked surface can change grip, so test first. Environex says accredited slip tests found that Hi-Lite, applied correctly, has a minimal effect on the slip factor of pavers, and it still recommends a small test area if slip is a concern. Sealers that soak in generally change the surface less than a coating that sits on top.
