Description

Environex Premium Bluestone Sealer is a specially formulated natural penetrating sealer developed specifically for bluestone (basalt) and other natural stone and masonry surfaces, keeping the stone’s natural colour and texture intact while genuinely protecting against permanent staining from most household spills. As an almost invisible penetrating sealer, it doesn’t leave a visible film on the surface the way a topical coating would — it soaks in and works from within the stone’s own pore structure.

It’s suitable for both internal and external applications, giving genuine flexibility across a bluestone paved courtyard, an interior floor, or a mixed indoor-outdoor project using the same stone throughout. Because it’s formulated to keep the stone’s natural appearance, the surface texture stays unchanged, though the sealer may darken the stone slightly — a real consideration worth testing on an inconspicuous area before committing to a full application.

Coverage is approximately 10m² per litre per coat, with the total number of coats and overall coverage depending on the porosity of the specific surface being sealed. Ongoing maintenance is straightforward using Environex Refresh pH neutral detergent, which keeps the sealed surface performing without breaking down the sealer the way a harsher cleaning product could.

Its almost-invisible finish is what makes it suited specifically to bluestone rather than a generic penetrating sealer, since bluestone’s naturally dark, matte character is easy to disturb with a sealer that leaves any visible sheen or film behind. Applying it as part of routine stone maintenance, rather than only once staining has already occurred, keeps bluestone paving and flooring looking genuinely new for longer with far less ongoing cleaning effort.

What temperature range is suitable for application?

Do not seal below 10°C or above 30°C, applying to a clean, dry surface with an Environex Lambswool Applicator or Viton Seal Sprayer.
