Description

STAIN PROOF Waterborne Dense Stone Sealer is a next-generation, breathable nanotechnology impregnating sealer built specifically for dense natural stone — marble, granite and similar polished surfaces — as well as tiles, masonry, pavers, concrete and grout. Its modified silane molecules are hundreds of times smaller than typical waterbased competitor sealers, which is what allows genuine penetration into dense, polished materials that resist standard sealing technology; typical penetration into most granites and marbles runs 7 to 13 millimetres.

Application is a genuine one-coat process using a high-density foam roller, applied as a non-drip cream that suits both vertical and horizontal dense surfaces, indoors or out. It’s rated Class 5 for stain resistance under ISO 10545-14 with olive oil testing, and its permanent bonding silanes — at 50% active ingredient — mean annual resealing isn’t required the way it is with some competing products.

Third-party lab testing confirmed 8mm depth of penetration in granite and 14-19mm in concrete paver, genuine numbers that back up its dense-stone claims rather than marketing alone. It retains the appearance and colour of the treated surface, though testing first is recommended since the cream can slightly darken some substrates, and it’s breathable so water vapour continues to escape freely. A 15-year performance warranty is available when applied by a STAIN-PROOF Accredited Applicator. Do not use on resined quartzite.

Where to Use

  • Kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities
  • Pool surrounds, patios and entertainment areas
  • Public and commercial dense stone surfaces

How to Apply

  1. Test first — apply to a small area and allow 24 hours to check results.
  2. Ensure the surface is dry and clean — at a surface temperature of 5-35°C.
  3. Apply one coat — using a high-density foam roller, avoiding contact with surrounding areas.
  4. Remove excess — after a 45 minute to 1 hour dwell time, using clean dry cloths or a squeegee.
  5. Avoid moisture contact — for a minimum of 12 hours after application.

Important Notes

  • Do not use on resined quartzite.
  • Will not prevent surface etching, scuffing or wear.
  • Full cure takes at least 4 weeks; store locked up in a well-ventilated place.

Frequently asked questions

What makes this a 'dense stone' sealer specifically?

Its modified silane molecules are hundreds of times smaller than typical waterbased competitor sealers, letting it genuinely penetrate into dense, polished materials like granite and marble that resist standard sealers — do not use it on resined quartzite.

How deep does it actually penetrate?

Third-party lab testing recorded 8mm depth of penetration in granite and 14-19mm in concrete paver, genuinely deeper than a typical topical or lightly-penetrating sealer.

Does it need resealing every year?

No — its permanent bonding silanes with 50% active ingredient are formulated so annual resealing isn’t required, unlike some sealers that need yearly reapplication to maintain protection.
