About ADOS

ADOS is the CRC range of contact and spray adhesives for bonding laminates, board, foam, fabric, rubber and building materials, plus a remover for cleaning off adhesive and paint. It covers brush-on, gel and aerosol options.

CRC ADOS F2 Contact Adhesive is a general purpose contact adhesive that is water resistant and flexible. It is brushed or rolled onto both surfaces and bonds laminated plastics, hardboard, sheet metal, foam plastics, felt, leather and most building materials, in 75ml, 250ml and 500ml sizes. CRC ADOS F3 Non Drip Gel Contact Adhesive is a high strength gel that will not drip or soak in. That makes it the better pick for vertical and ceiling work, and for porous surfaces such as plasterboard and particle board edges. For lighter materials, CRC ADOS Multi Purpose Spray Adhesive suits paper, fabric, carpet, cork, PVC foam and polystyrene, and stays repositionable for 1 to 2 minutes. CRC says not to use it where a heat resistant or water immersion bond is needed. CRC ADOS Ultra High Strength Spray Adhesive gives a permanent, heat resistant bond on porous and non-porous surfaces.

CRC ADOS Stuff Off Adhesive and Paint Remover is a clinging gel that softens most adhesives, paints and uncured sealants. Read the label and safety data sheet before use.

Common Questions

ADOS FAQ

Should I use F2 or F3 contact adhesive?

F2 is the general purpose choice, applied by brush or roller to both surfaces and left to go tacky before joining. F3 is a non drip gel that will not soak into porous surfaces, so it suits vertical and overhead work and materials such as plasterboard or particle board edges. It also has good resistance to heat, water, acids and alkalis.

When should I choose Ultra High Strength over Multi Purpose Spray Adhesive?

Choose Ultra High Strength when you need an immediate, permanent bond with high heat resistance. CRC advises against Multi Purpose Spray Adhesive for heat resistant or water immersion bonds, since it suits lighter materials like paper, fabric, PVC foam and cork and gives 1 to 2 minutes to reposition. Check its label before using it where the bond will be wet.

How long does Stuff Off take to work?

Contact time depends on what you are removing. The product directions give 15 to 30 seconds for fresh paint and up to 15 minutes for cured adhesive. The gel clings to vertical surfaces, and it is suited to metal, wood, fabric, carpet, stone and brick. Read the entire label before use, and keep it off paintwork you want to keep, as it is made to soften paint.
