Description
SikaSeal-190 N Silicone is a one-component, neutral-curing sanitary sealant built for the wet-area sealing work that follows tiling — kitchens, bathrooms, showers, benchtops, basins, baths and toilets. Its neutral cure chemistry and mould-resistant formulation are specifically what make it suitable for sanitary applications, where an acidic-cure sealant can corrode certain metal fittings and a lower-grade sealant can discolour or support mould growth within a year.
At ±50% movement capability, it’s rated for genuinely demanding movement and connection joints, not just static sanitary sealing — a real advantage where a joint needs to accommodate building movement as well as normal wet-area use. Its wide temperature resistance, -40°C to +150°C, and excellent adhesion across glass, enamel, porcelain, ceramic, aluminium, concrete and grouts gives it broad applicability across most tiling and sanitary substrates in one product.

Where to Use
- Kitchens, bathrooms, showers and tiled areas
- Benchtops, basins, baths and toilets
- Movement and connection joints, including around splashbacks and plumbing penetrations
- General interior and exterior sealing around the home
How to Apply
- Prepare the joint — ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, grease or old sealant.
- Mask if required — tape either side of the joint for a clean edge line.
- Apply the sealant — extrude evenly from the cartridge into the joint.
- Tool the joint — smooth to a consistent profile before the surface skins over.
- Allow to cure — respect the atmospheric moisture curing time before exposing to water.
Important Notes
- Not suitable for all metal and natural stone substrates — check compatibility before use.
- Store in original, unopened, undamaged packaging in dry conditions between +5°C and +25°C.
- Refer to the current Safety Data Sheet for safe handling and storage information.
A sanitary sealant that only handles static joints is a real limitation on a genuine construction project, where movement and connection joints see actual building flex over time. SikaSeal-190N’s ±50% movement rating means the same sealant used around a basin or bath can also be specified for a genuine expansion or connection joint elsewhere on the job, without switching products.
