Lauxes STI21 Slimline Tile Insert Grate is genuinely the thinnest tile insert grate in the range at just 21mm deep, purpose-built for builds and renovations where height is the limiting factor in achieving the correct fall to a drain. That extra 5mm saved compared with the STI26 can be the difference between a workable fall and a floor build-up that clashes with a doorway threshold or adjoining floor level.
Beyond its slim profile, it carries the same practical features as the rest of the Lauxes tile insert range: a tile insert that blends into the surrounding floor, no bedding required, and an easy roll-out tray for cleaning and maintenance. Being made from anodised aluminium and UV stable makes it genuinely suitable for both indoor and outdoor projects, not just protected internal wet areas.
Its 21mm depth is a genuine specification advantage on renovation and new-build projects where the available slab or subfloor build-up is tight — many standard tile insert grates simply won’t fit without raising the floor level, while the STI21 is purpose engineered to solve exactly that constraint. How to Apply
- Select the length — choose from 0.6m to 5.6m in 5mm increments, or plan for extension joiners on longer runs.
- Cut to size onsite — trim to the exact required length as needed.
- Position the spigot — select the correct 40mm, 50mm, 72mm or 80mm spigot for the waste outlet location.
- Install without bedding — set the grate into the prepared floor, taking advantage of the reduced depth for a tight fall.
- Fit the tile insert — insert tile matching the surrounding floor into the grate body.
