Hume Prima Ceramic Tile Underlay is a specially formulated fibre cement sheet. It’s designed as a stable substrate for slate and ceramic floor tiles, so you can install ceramic tile floor underlay over new or existing timber floorboards, plywood or particleboard flooring.
In dry areas, apply directly to Hume Prima Ceramic Tile Underlay for an impervious, easily cleaned surface. In wet areas and anywhere subject to accidental flooding or water-splash, install a waterproof membrane between the underlay and your tiling.
General
PRIMA products are manufactured by Saint-Gobain, in accordance with AS/NZS 2908.2. The manufacturing process combines Portland cement, water, finely ground sand, softwood cellulose fibre pulp and additives which are then cured under under high-pressure steam in an autoclave to form a dimensionally stable fibre cement panel.
PRIMA CTU can be directly fixed to an existing timber, particle board and plywood floor. The material is suitable for use as substrate for ceramic floor tiles on existing timber floor boards with minimal surface preparation.
PRIMA Products have been used in some of the most prestigious developments worldwide because of the functionality, versatility and contemporary features of the board whose Cellulose fibre is derived from FSC® Certified Radiata Pine grown in New Zealand.
