Description
Sika’s SikaTile 366 ProFlex is a cement-based tile adhesive with black rubber particles blended through it for flexibility and extended coverage. That flexibility is what lets it work on substrates that flex slightly, such as fibre cement board, without the joint failing the way a fully rigid adhesive can.
Its extended coverage claim comes from the same rubber-particle formulation, which spreads further per bag than a standard mix while still delivering the notch-trowel bed a large or heavy tile needs. It’s rated for both internal and external work, and for medium bed applications up to 10mm thick, which covers most tile formats a trade tiler will use it for without needing a separate heavy-bed product.

Where to Use
- Ceramic tile underlay and fibre cement boards
- Engineered stone and man-made stone not sensitive to flex
- Substrates needing a flexible bond rather than a fully rigid adhesive
- Internal and external applications, including medium bed work up to 10mm thick
- Sika-approved acoustic underlayment systems, where specified
How to Apply
- Prepare the substrate — it must be properly cured, structurally sound, free of loose or friable material, clean and dry.
- Plan movement joints — include movement joints in the tiling layout in accordance with the relevant standard before starting.
- Mix — combine 7 to 8 litres of clean water with the 20kg bag to a smooth, lump-free consistency.
- Trowel and place tiles — comb with a notched trowel sized to the tile format, then press tiles into the wet ridges within the 30 minute open time.
- Allow to cure — leave sufficient time before grouting and before the tiled area takes foot traffic.
Important Notes
- Coverage per bag depends on surface profile and application method; use the trowel-size-to-coverage table on the datasheet as a guide.
- For porous substrates, prime with SikaTile 010 Secure Prime; refer to that product’s own datasheet for exact application.
- Ensure adhesive ridges are still wet when tiles are placed — a skinned-over surface will not bond properly.
- For board substrates such as fibre cement, follow the board manufacturer’s own fixing instructions alongside this datasheet.
