Description
Sika’s SikaTile-410 Secure Set is a white cement-based tile adhesive built for large format tile and stone, where slump on a vertical surface is the real risk. Its low-slump formulation holds heavy tiles in place while the adhesive cures, rather than letting them creep down the wall under their own weight — a genuine problem with a standard adhesive once tile size and weight climb past a certain point.
As a white powder rather than grey, it also suits light-coloured grout joints and natural stone where a grey adhesive might show through or discolour the finish, and a 2 hour pot life gives a tiler a realistic working window on a large-format job without the mix skinning over before it’s used.

How to Apply
- Prepare the substrate — it must be sound, clean, dry and free of contaminants that would stop the adhesive bonding.
- Mix — combine 6.5 to 7 litres of clean, cool water with the 20kg bag to a lump-free consistency.
- Trowel and comb — spread with an appropriate notched trowel sized to the tile format, keeping ridges consistent for full coverage.
- Place within open time — press tiles into the wet adhesive within 30 minutes, checking the ridges haven’t skinned over.
- Allow to cure — light traffic after 24 hours, full traffic after 5 days.
Important Notes
- Actual coverage depends on substrate planarity, porosity and the trowel notch size used.
- Mix only what can be applied within the 2 hour pot life.
- Store unopened bags in cool, dry conditions, off the ground, for up to 12 months.
- The formulation is low-slump specifically to suit large format tile and stone; it is not needed for small-format tile where slump isn’t a practical concern.
