Description
An expansion joint between two areas of the same flooring has to be covered without being turned into a feature. The Seamless Transition Cover Trim in tapered edge is built for that: a narrow 37 millimetre profile that spans control joints of most common widths and supports them properly.
The system comes apart into a cover and a base. The cover push-clicks onto a multi-height base, and because the base comes in three height ranges the same cover suits a considerable spread of floor build-ups.

Expansion Joints Are Not Transitions
These two get confused constantly and need different products. A transition joins two different floor finishes, usually at different heights, and a ramp or edge profile handles it. An expansion joint sits between two areas of the same flooring and exists so the floor can move.
Cover an expansion joint with a rigid transition trim fixed both sides and you have removed the movement the joint was built to allow, which puts the load back into the floor. The cover and base system here fixes to one side and spans the gap, so the joint keeps working underneath it.

How to Apply
- Measure the build-up — Establish the floor height so the correct multi-height base is selected.
- Fix the base — Secure the base along the joint line.
- Cut the cover — Cut the 3.3 metre cover to the length required.
- Push-click the cover — Press the cover onto the base until it engages along its full length.
Important Notes
- Three base heights are available. Measure the actual floor build-up before ordering, not the nominal thickness.
- Cover and base can be bought separately, which suits replacing a damaged cover without disturbing the base.
- The tapered edge is the low-profile option. A curved or flat profile is available where a different look is wanted.
