Description
Poultice Plus is a fine, non-acidic absorption powder built to pull stains out from deep within a substrate rather than just cleaning what’s sitting on the surface. Its absorptive action works into grout, mortar, ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite, travertine and other natural stone, drawing stains up and out with little technical skill required — mix, apply, seal, and let it work.
The 24-48 hour dry time is central to how it works: as the paste dries, it draws moisture — and the staining agent trapped in it — back out of the substrate and into the poultice itself, which is then scraped away along with the stain. Rushing that drying time or removing the plastic wrap too early interrupts the process before it’s finished pulling.

Where to Use
- Sanded and non-sanded grout, mortar
- Ceramic, quarry and porcelain tile
- Clay pavers, marble, limestone, travertine, granite, slate and other natural stone
How to Apply
- Test first — several inconspicuous test patches are recommended given how substrates vary.
- Strip old sealers — remove any previously applied sealers, coatings or waxes using Mira Strip or Finish Sealer Stripper.
- Mix the paste — combine Poultice Plus with distilled water (or a compatible chemical additive) to a pliable, non-runny paste.
- Apply and seal — apply directly over the stain, cover with plastic wrap and tape an airtight seal with non-marking tape.
- Allow to dry fully — approximately 24-48 hours.
- Remove and rinse — scrape the dried paste off with a non-scratching plastic putty knife, then rinse with clean distilled water.
Important Notes
- Always protect neighbouring surfaces including masonry, wood, carpet, metal and landscaping before use.
- Use only in well-ventilated areas; wear chemical-resistant gloves.
- Keep out of reach of children until the product or surface has thoroughly dried.
Poultice cleaning works fundamentally differently to surface cleaning, and that difference is worth understanding before starting: a surface cleaner only ever removes what’s sitting on top of the substrate, while a poultice actively reverses the staining process by drawing moisture — and whatever’s dissolved in it — back out through the same pores the stain travelled in through. That’s why deep-set stains that laugh off ordinary cleaning products can still respond to a correctly applied poultice treatment.
