Description
Dry-Treat’s STAIN PROOF Alkaline Cleaner is a triple-action oxygen, alkaline and detergent-boosted heavy duty cleaner for stains that a general-purpose cleaner won’t shift — oil, grease, mould, leaf marks, food and beverage residue. It’s rated across a wide range of surfaces, from natural stone and tile through to concrete, brick, grout and unfinished wood, which makes it a genuinely multi-surface product rather than one built for a single material.
Beyond normal surface cleaning, it also works as the base for a poultice: mixed to a peanut-butter consistency with a little water, it can be packed onto a deep or old stain, covered, and left to draw the staining material back out of a porous surface over time. That’s a different job from ordinary cleaning, and it’s why the product carries both a cleaning use and a poultice use on the same datasheet.

Where to Use

How to Apply
- For general cleaning — mix the powder concentrate with water per the label rate, apply to the stained area, agitate with a brush and rinse thoroughly.
- For poultice work — mix a small amount of powder with just enough water to form a thick paste, roughly peanut-butter consistency.
- Apply the poultice — pack it over the stain, thicker than the surrounding surface, and mask the edges with removable builder’s tape to protect the surrounding area.
- Cover and wait — leave the poultice to work; it draws the staining material out of the pores as it dries.
- Remove and rinse — lift the dried poultice away and rinse the area with clean water.
Important Notes
- Too much water in a poultice mix stops it working properly — aim for a thick, peanut-butter-like consistency, not a runny paste.
- Once mixed, do not store in a sealed container; the mixture can build pressure and rupture the container.
- For normal day-to-day cleaning rather than stain removal, a lighter dilution is appropriate — reserve the concentrated mix for heavy duty jobs and poultice work.
