Description
Farm Soil is a general-purpose soil sold loose by the cubic metre for filling large beds, raised vegetable plots, orchard rows and paddock corners. It is a plain soil rather than a screened, blended garden mix, for jobs where volume matters most.
It also suits larger home gardens and acreage properties where a blended garden soil would be expensive in volume. Work compost through the top layer before planting.
It sits alongside Garden Blend Mix Soil and Top Soil Sandy Loam in the soil range.
For a large area, measure first: one cubic metre spread 100mm deep covers about 10 square metres, so work out the load in quarter-m3 steps. Soil is heavy, roughly 1.2 to 1.4 tonnes per cubic metre when moist, so match each pickup to the trailer’s load rating and make more than one trip for a big job.
