Description
The commercial profile in the MJS cover strip range is the widest and the tallest of the four. At 38 millimetres across with a 6.5 millimetre height, the MJ14 covers height variations up to 6 millimetres in commercial settings, where the domestic profiles top out at 3.
It is supplied in 3.66 metre lengths, drilled ready to fix, and each length is individually plastic wrapped so the finish survives transport and site storage before it goes down.

Commercial Versus Domestic Cover Strips
The four profiles in the range look similar and are rated quite differently. Rippled at 30 millimetres and Hammered at 32 suit domestic floors up to 3 millimetres of variation. Senior at 33 millimetres handles up to 6 millimetres domestically.
The Commercial profile is the only one rated for commercial use, at 38 millimetres wide with a 6.5 millimetre height, covering variations up to 6 millimetres. The extra width spreads the load from trolleys and continuous foot traffic that would work a narrower domestic strip loose.

How to Apply
- Cut to length — Cut the cover strip to the width of the opening.
- Position — Set the strip so it sits flat across both surfaces with no rocking.
- Fix — Nail through the pre-drilled holes. Matching nails are sold separately.
- Check — Confirm the strip is held firmly without the surface being defaced by the fixing.
Important Notes
- Matching nails are sold separately and should suit the substrate, timber or concrete.
- For height variations above 6mm, a heavy duty strip or a ramp is the right choice.
- Wear safety glasses and gloves when cutting aluminium.
Ordering and Handling
Each length is 3.66 metres and cartons hold ten pieces, so a commercial job trimming multiple openings is usually ordering by the carton rather than the length. Measure every opening before ordering, because commercial door widths vary more than domestic ones.
Each strip arrives individually plastic wrapped. Leave the wrap on until the strip is about to be cut and fixed, because the mill finish picks up marks easily and site storage is where most of that damage happens.
