Description
Temporary floor protection is chosen on duty rating. Renovator grade is the medium-duty option in the SupaBord range, a 0.75 millimetre board on an 800 millimetre wide roll running 33 metres, which covers roughly 26.5 square metres.
The narrower roll is deliberate. On a renovation, where protection is going through doorways, up hallways and around existing furniture, an 800 millimetre width is far easier to handle than a full commercial roll.

Choosing a Protection Grade
Protection board is graded by the traffic it has to survive, not by how long it needs to stay down. Renovator grade at 0.75 millimetres is a medium-duty board, sized for the foot traffic and light material handling of a renovation rather than for a site where trades are dropping tools.
The narrow 800 millimetre roll follows from the same logic. On a renovation the protection is going through existing doorways and around furniture that has not moved, and a full commercial width would be unwieldy in those spaces.

How to Apply
- Prepare the floor — Ensure the base floor is clean and dry before anything goes down.
- Roll out — Remove the paper wrap and roll the board out over the floor, logo side facing up.
- Cut to fit — Cut to length with a utility knife, keeping the seams neat so they fit together well.
- Tape the joints — Tape butt joints, long joints and the perimeter with SupaBord Joint Tape. Do not apply joint tape directly to floor surfaces, as it can affect some finishes.
- Secure the perimeter — Apply SupaBord Edge Tape around the outside perimeter.
Important Notes
- Do not apply Joint Tape to the floor surface itself. Edge Tape is the product formulated for that.
- Logo side faces up. The two faces are not interchangeable.
- Medium duty suits renovation traffic. Heavy construction traffic needs a heavier grade.
