Description
Every Stellmann Non-Slip Clear PRO installation starts with the same thin coat of primer, because that is what makes the warranty on adhesion possible across such a wide range of floors. Stellmann Clear Primer is a single-component, water-based acrylic that bonds the clear non-slip coating, and the Stair Nosing Coating, to tiles, ceramics, marble, concrete, natural and cast stone, terrazzo, glass and metal.
It is tinted blue while wet so you can see where it has been applied, and dries transparent. At lower dilution it also stabilises friable surfaces and binds loose particles, which is useful on older grout lines and worn stone.

Where to Use
- Under Stellmann Non-Slip Clear PRO on every substrate
- Under Stellmann Stair Nosing Coating on tiles, stone, glass and metal
- Under Stellmann Aqualine coatings when applied to tiles, stone or metal rather than concrete
- Stabilising friable or dusty mineral surfaces before coating
How to Apply
- Clean — wash with Stellmann Prep and Maintenance Cleaner until foaming stops, rinse and allow to dry completely.
- Dilute — mix 1:1 with water in a small cup or bucket.
- Apply — for areas under 15 square metres, wipe on a thin, even layer with a sponge or microfibre cloth; avoid puddling and a thick film.
- Cure — allow about 30 minutes; wear shoe covers if you must walk on the primed surface.
- Coat — apply the Stellmann coating within 8 hours. Do not use cleaning agents after priming.
Important Notes
- Not for substrates exposed to rising damp.
- Marks left in the primer can remain visible under the clear coating, so keep footprints and drips off the primed surface.
- The primer is not classified as hazardous for supply or transport; see the Safety Data Sheet under the Documents tab.
