Description
A roller frame sounds like the least important part of a floor finishing kit until a loaded 25 centimetre cover flexes it. This one is built for exactly that load, sized for Loba’s 25 centimetre covers and stiff enough to keep the cover flat across its full width.
That flatness is what produces consistent coverage. A frame that bows under a loaded roller lifts the ends off the floor, and the result is a coat that is heavier down the centre than at the edges.

Building the Kit
The Loba application system comes apart into three pieces bought separately: the frame, the cover and the extension bar. That is deliberate, because the cover is the consumable and the frame and bar are not.
It does mean checking what you have before a job starts. A frame with no cover, or an oil cover when the job calls for a water-based finish, is the kind of thing discovered at the worst possible moment.

How to Apply
- Fit the cover — Slide the correct 25cm cover on. The oil and finish covers are different products.
- Attach the bar — Fit the telescopic extension bar where the floor is large enough to warrant it.
- Load and work out — Charge the cover evenly on the tray before starting on the floor.
- Clean or discard — Clean the frame immediately after use. Finish left to cure on the frame is difficult to remove.
Important Notes
- Roller covers are sold separately and are not interchangeable between oils and water-based finishes.
- A 10 centimetre edge frame is available separately for corners and hard-to-reach areas.
- Clean the frame straight after use, before any finish on it starts to cure.
Cleaning and Storage
Water-based finishes are considerably easier to clean off a frame before they cure than after. Once a coat has set on the frame it has to be stripped chemically or scraped, and both risk damaging the frame or leaving residue that contaminates the next job.
Wash the frame immediately after use and dry it before storage. Store covers separately, and store them dry, because a microfibre cover left damp in a toolbox will not release product evenly again.
