Description
A non-slip coating is only as good as the surface under it, which is why Stellmann specifies an alkaline wash before every installation. Prep and Maintenance Cleaner is that concentrate: it lifts the grease, soap residue and general soiling that would otherwise sit between the primer and the tile, and it is the recommended cleaner for keeping Stellmann coatings looking and gripping as they should.
Because it is a concentrate the two pack sizes cover very different jobs. The 500 ml bottle suits a bathroom or shower recoat and a year of routine mopping; the 5 litre jerry can is the installer and facility-manager size.

How to Apply
- Dilute — 1:10 to 1:20 for preparation, 1:100 to 1:200 for maintenance.
- Apply and soak — spread the solution and allow it to work; scrub with a brush, broom or machine.
- Remove — squeegee, mop or wet-and-dry vacuum the residue.
- Rinse — twice with plenty of clean cold water before coating; dry the surface.
Getting the Dilution Right
The two dilutions do different jobs and are not interchangeable. Preparation before coating uses 1:10 to 1:20, strong enough to strip the grease and soap film that would otherwise sit between the primer and the tile. Routine maintenance uses 1:100 to 1:200, which is 5 to 10 millilitres per litre of water, because a coated floor cleaned at preparation strength will be stripped of its finish over time.
Heavy soiling is the exception. Mix 1:10 in hot water, let it soak for two minutes, and go as strong as 1:1 on a badly contaminated commercial kitchen or loading dock floor before recoating.
Important Notes
- Do not use cleaning agents after the primer has gone on; clean first, then prime.
