Stellmann Aqualine PU PRO is a water-based, two-pack polyurethane floor coating for concrete in garages, warehouses, walkways, stairs and commercial kitchens. It applies straight to concrete without a primer, resists UV without yellowing, and takes a P3, P4 or P5 slip rating when Stellmann Non-Slip Particles are added to the finish coat. Eight RAL colours in a 12kg kit.

Description

Epoxy floor coatings yellow in sunlight and need solvents. Stellmann Aqualine PU PRO is the water-based alternative: a two-pack polyurethane that is diluted with water, applied straight onto sound concrete without a separate primer, and stays colour-fast outdoors. It is Stellmann’s flagship coloured coating for garages, car parks, warehouses, factory floors, cellars, corridors and commercial kitchens.

The system is also a certified non-slip floor. With Stellmann Non-Slip Particles stirred into the finish coat it achieves P3, P4 or P5 under AS 4586, verified in CSIRO wet pendulum testing, and it addresses AS 4663 for existing pedestrian surfaces. Traffic White and Traffic Yellow double as demarcation and stair-tread colours.

Where to Use

  • Garages, car parks and driveways
  • Warehouse, factory and industrial hall floors
  • Commercial kitchens and food preparation areas
  • Stair treads, nosing strips and demarcation lines
  • Cellars, corridors, passageways and exterior walkways
  • Interior and exterior concrete walls

How to Apply

  1. Prepare — remove laitance, curing compounds, oil and dust by grinding or shot blasting; repair cracks; confirm moisture under 3%.
  2. Mix — stir Part A for 5 minutes, weigh 5 : 1 with Part B and mix mechanically for 5 minutes at low speed.
  3. Prime coat — dilute the mix 15 to 20% with water and roll on; let it dry before the next coat.
  4. Finish coat — dilute 0 to 5%, add the non-slip particles by weight on a scale, mix in mechanically and roll in straight passes without W or N movements.
  5. Cure — foot traffic after about 24 hours; full loading after 3 to 7 days.

The full procedure, including roller choice and renovation dilutions, is in the Aqualine PU PRO installation manual under the Documents tab.

Important Notes

  • On tiles, natural stone or metal, prime first with Stellmann Clear Primer.
  • Bright colours such as yellow may need an extra coat for full coverage.
  • Only mix what you can apply within the 2 hour pot life.
  • Hardener B contains isocyanates; wear gloves and read the Safety Data Sheet.
  • For light-duty residential concrete, the single-pack Stellmann Aqualine MA DIY is the simpler option.

Key Features

Frequently asked questions

How many coats of Aqualine PU PRO does a concrete floor need?

Two. The prime coat is the mixed coating diluted 15 to 20% with water so it penetrates the concrete, followed by a finish coat diluted 0 to 5%. A third coat is optional for high-traffic areas. Non-slip particles go only in the finish coat.

How do I get a P4 or P5 slip rating with Aqualine PU PRO?

Add Stellmann Non-Slip Particles to the finish coat by weight: 3.0% P3 particles for P3, 2.5% P4 particles for P4, or 2.0% P5 particles for P5. Never exceed 3%, as more particles can reduce the slip rating and spoil the finish.

Can Aqualine PU PRO go on new concrete?

Only after the slab has cured for at least 28 days, reads under 3% moisture, and has a compressive strength of 25 MPa or more and tensile strength of at least 1.5 N/mm². Remove laitance, curing compounds and release agents first.

Is Aqualine PU PRO suitable outdoors?

Yes. It is UV-resistant and does not yellow or chalk like epoxy, so it suits exterior concrete walkways, ramps, car parks and stair treads as well as interior floors and concrete walls.
