Waiting a full day for a wet-area membrane to cure can hold up an entire tiling schedule, and SikaTile-111’s colour-changing technology is built specifically to confirm cure and get tiling started in hours, not days.

Description

SikaTile-111 Rapid Proof is a rapid drying, water-based Class III flexible waterproofing membrane designed for wet areas, balconies and other under tile and stone waterproofing applications. Being ultra-fast drying, it’s ready for tiling just 2-3 hours after the final coat, a genuine advantage on jobs where waiting a full day or more for a membrane to cure would hold up the entire tiling schedule.

Its unique colour-changing technology gives installers a clear, visual way to confirm each coat has actually dried before moving on, rather than relying purely on elapsed time under variable site conditions. Combined with a superior film build that achieves the required dry film thickness more easily than traditional liquid-applied membranes, and independent third-party testing confirming compliance with both AS4654 and AS4858, it’s built for genuine, verifiable wet-area performance rather than just fast turnaround.

Being water-based and solvent free with low VOC, it suits both residential and commercial applications where indoor air quality during installation matters, and its micro-fibre reinforcement gives it Class III flexible performance greater than 300%, accommodating real substrate movement without cracking. It’s not designed for submerged applications like pools and spas, and shouldn’t be left exposed longer than 30 days before tile or stone covering goes down.

Frequently asked questions

What does the colour-changing technology do?

SikaTile-111 changes colour once it’s fully dry, giving installers a clear visual confirmation that each coat has cured before applying the next coat or beginning tiling, rather than guessing based on time alone.

Can SikaTile-111 be used in a swimming pool?

No — it’s not designed for submerged applications such as pools and spas, and is also not suitable for exposed UV-stable use, so it should not be left exposed for longer than 30 days before covering.

How much area does one pail cover?

A 15 litre pail covers 10m² across 2 coats, applied at a rate of 0.75 litres per m² per coat to reach a 1.00mm dry film thickness.
