Description
Sikasil-702 is a premium grade, one-component neutral curing silicone sealant with good adhesion, elasticity and weatherability, built for both trade and home internal and external sealing applications. Its no-fillers formulation is a genuine point of difference from a bulked-out general-purpose sealant — it cures purely through the absorption of atmospheric moisture to form a tough, flexible, waterproof seal without the fillers that can compromise flexibility over time.
Movement capability of ±25% under ASTM C719 gives it real range on joints that need to accommodate genuine building movement, while its excellent temperature resistance from -40°C to +150°C covers everything from a domestic kitchen splashback to a genuinely demanding outdoor or industrial application. It’s mould resistant and offers good adhesion to most common building materials, including glass, ceramic, painted surfaces, concrete, wood, polycarbonate, most metals and most plastics.
Available across 15 colours, from White and Off White through to Bluestone, Charcoal and Translucent, it gives genuine flexibility to match a wide range of fittings and finishes. Being AS/NZS 4020:2018 Water Potable Approved also opens it up to applications with water contact where that certification matters, on top of its everyday use in kitchens, bathrooms, roofs and gutters, benchtops and general interior and exterior sealing.

Where to Use
- Kitchens, bathrooms, basins, baths, toilets and shower screens
- Benchtops, splashbacks, roofs and gutters, including polycarbonate
- Around plumbing fixtures and window/door frame sealing
- General interior and exterior sealing applications
How to Apply
- Prepare the joint — ensure movement joints are at least 6mm wide and 6mm deep, or a 1:0.5 width-to-depth ratio.
- Use backing material — closed cell polyethylene foam backing rod or tape for correct joint design.
- Apply within temperature range — ambient +5°C to +40°C, substrate at least 3°C above dew point.
- Tool the sealant — smooth before the skin forms, approximately 10 minutes at +23°C.
- Allow to cure — approximately 4mm per 24 hours at +23°C and 50% relative humidity.
Important Notes
- Do not use on natural stone, copper, or bituminous substrates.
- Cannot be overpainted.
- Not suitable for joints under water pressure or permanent water immersion, such as swimming pools.
