Description
RLA RL6000 Synthetic Grass Carpet Adhesive is an all-weather, solvent-based adhesive formulated specifically for outdoor synthetic grass installation, developing high strength quickly and standing up to genuinely unfavourable weather once cured. Being rated for pools, balconies and outdoor recreational areas that see ongoing moisture exposure after installation is a real distinguishing feature from an indoor-only carpet adhesive.
Its recommended 3.2mm x 3.2mm deep notching reflects the highly textured backing typical of synthetic grass and fibre-bonded carpets — a shallower notch simply wouldn’t achieve the minimum 75% adhesive coverage the backing needs for a reliable bond. Being solvent-based and flammable, it demands genuine care in handling and storage that a water-based indoor adhesive wouldn’t require.
Its solvent-based, all-weather formulation is specifically engineered for the demands of outdoor synthetic grass installation, where the adhesive needs to develop strength quickly and then withstand real exposure to rain, heat and UV once cured — a genuinely different performance requirement to an indoor flooring adhesive. Because it isn’t recommended for urethane or E.V.A.-backed carpets, confirming the actual backing type on the synthetic grass being installed is an important first step before specifying RL6000 for a job.

Where to Use
- Outdoor synthetic grass installation over cured concrete, asphalt or exterior grade wood
- Swimming pool surrounds, balconies and outdoor recreational areas
- Not suitable for urethane or E.V.A.-backed carpets
How to Apply
- Prepare the substrate — absorbent, dry, smooth, sound and clean.
- Spread the adhesive — use a deep 3.2mm x 3.2mm V-notched trowel for at least 75% coverage.
- Allow initial tack — approximately 5-10 minutes at 20°C before laying.
- Lay and roll — press into the wet film and roll in both directions with the recommended weight.
- Restrict traffic — no heavy traffic for 24 hours; avoid installing in or before rain.
Important Notes
- Highly flammable — keep away from heat, sparks and open flames; use only outdoors or in well-ventilated areas.
- Do not apply in the rain or if rain is expected during or shortly after laying.
- Clean tools with RLA-approved Roberts R900 Cleaner.
