Max Bond Hardboard Adhesive
– 15 Litre Pail
MHB is high solids timber underlay Adhesive. It is a high bond strength water based
adhesive designed for the installation of Hardboard/Timber underlays to timber
substrates.
Surface Preparation:
- All surfaces to be bonded should be dry, smooth, and free of any contaminates that may affect the final bond.
- All surfaces must be prepared in accordance with current Australian Standards 1884-2012 Floor Coverings Resilient Sheet including moisture testing.
- Ensure timber subfloor is absorbent to allow adhesive to dry.
- The minimum sub floor temperature prior to commencing preparation or adhesive application is 10°C.
Method of Application:
- Spread adhesive with a 2.4mm x 2.4mm x 2.4mm ‘V’Notched trowel.
- Only spread about 2 – 3 square meters at time and then install underlay in to the wet adhesive film.
- Always ensure a 100% adhesive transfer to the back of underlay.
- Roll underlay with correct roller weight. 40kg roller is suitable.
- Staple or nail underlay as required prior to adhesive setting.
- Complete installation according to underlay manufacturer’s instructions.
Clean Up:
- Clean tools immediately after use with warm soapy water.
- Dried adhesive may be cleaned off using a solvent cleaner applied to a damp cloth then rubbed gently over the dried adhesive

- Up to 2 – 2.5m² per litre
