Ultrabond Eco S955 1K bonds solid and pre-finished multi-layered timber flooring of all types, including parquet, over concrete, engineered screeds, old timber, ceramic and metal — set to light foot traffic in around 12 hours.

Description

Ultrabond Eco S955 1K is a one-component, silylated polymer adhesive for bonding solid and pre-finished multi-layered timber flooring of all types, including parquet and lamparquet. Its EMICODE EC1 Plus rating for very low VOC emissions makes it a genuinely low-emission choice for indoor timber installations, without trading away bond strength.

It’s suited to a wide range of substrates — concrete, engineered screeds made with Mapecem or Topcem Pronto, old wooden floors, ceramic, terrazzo and even metal — and is also rated for use over heated substrates, which matters for hydronic underfloor heating jobs where the adhesive needs to handle sustained thermal cycling. It can also bond acoustic matting to the substrate, or engineered timber to acoustic matting, in the same working session.

Where to Use

  • Solid and pre-finished multi-layered timber flooring, including parquet
  • Over concrete, engineered screeds, old timber, ceramic, terrazzo and metal
  • Heated (hydronic underfloor) substrates
  • Bonding acoustic matting to the substrate, or engineered timber to acoustic matting

How to Apply

  1. Prepare the substrate — ensure it is clean, dry, sound and free of contaminants.
  2. Spread the adhesive — apply within the substrate and flooring manufacturer’s recommended notch and rate (800-1200 g/m²).
  3. Lay the flooring — press boards into the adhesive within the 40-minute open time.
  4. Allow to set — keep foot traffic light for approximately 12 hours.
  5. Polish once fully cured — wait a full 3 days before polishing the floor.

Important Notes

  • Fresh adhesive residue can be removed with Cleaner L; once hardened, it must be removed mechanically or with Pulicol 2000.
  • Stable for 12 months in its original, well-sealed container under normal storage conditions.
  • For professional use only.

Being a one-component adhesive rather than a two-part mix removes a genuine failure point on site: there’s no ratio to get wrong and no pot life to race against once components are combined, which matters on a large timber floor where mixing and reapplying a two-part adhesive across the whole job in one continuous session isn’t always practical. Its rating for heated substrates also broadens where it can be specified — hydronic underfloor heating puts sustained thermal cycling through an adhesive layer that a standard flooring adhesive isn’t necessarily rated to handle over years of use.
