Loba Amberizer bestows dark wooden floors a warm amber tone and added depth, mixed into LOBA’s water-based primers and finishes with light, medium or strong ambering controlled by how many coats it’s added to.

Description

Loba Amberizer is an additive built specifically to round off colouring and enhance depth on dark wood floors, mixed into LOBA’s own water-based primers and finishes rather than sold as a standalone colour product. Being waterborne and solvent-free means it integrates directly into the existing finish system without introducing a separate application step or curing chemistry to manage.

Its real value is the variable intensity control: the same 100g container can be used across a primer coat only, for a subtle effect, through to primer plus both main coats for a strong, deliberate amber tone. That flexibility lets one product cover a range of colour outcomes depending on how many application layers it’s added to, rather than needing several different pre-tinted finish products.

Amberizer works as a genuine colour-development tool rather than a stain, letting the installer dial in a light, medium or strong ambering effect to suit the specific timber species and the client’s desired tone, with the option of multiple layers for greater control over the final depth of colour. It’s especially suited to dark wood species, where the ambering effect complements and deepens the timber’s existing tone rather than fighting against it, and it combines with LOBA’s other waterborne primers and finishes as part of a complete system.

  5. Process within the time limit — use the mixed batch within 24 hours (or the specified time for 2-component systems).

Frequently asked questions

How is ambering intensity controlled?

By how many coats Amberizer is added to — light ambering uses it in the first coat only, medium in the first and second coats, and strong ambering adds it to the primer as well as both coats.

How much Amberizer is added per batch?

A maximum of one 100g container per 5 litres/kg of primer or finish, added immediately prior to application and shaken or stirred thoroughly.

Can Amberizer be used with 2-component finish systems?

Yes, but it’s only added once the hardener has already been worked into the mixed putty, and the mixed batch must then be processed within the finish’s specified processing time.
