Description
ARDEX CL 30 is an economical levelling and smoothing compound designed to prepare internal concrete substrates with a genuinely high quality, level finish before floor coverings go down. It’s built for a straightforward job — taking an uneven concrete sub-floor and bringing it to a flat, consistent surface ready for carpet, resilient flooring, timber or coatings, without needing a premium-grade compound for a standard internal preparation task.
Its real practical strength is the application range: CL 30 can be applied from 3mm up to 30mm in a single application, covering both a light skim coat over a mostly-flat slab and a deeper levelling pour where the sub-floor has genuine dips or falls to correct, all from the one bag rather than needing separate thin-set and deep-fill products. At 3mm thickness, a 20kg bag covers 4m², giving a straightforward way to estimate bag quantities against the area and depth of the job.
Cure times are genuinely fast for a trade job with a tight schedule: it’s walkable immediately after application, ready for broadloom carpet and carpet tiles from 24 hours, resilient flooring from 48 hours, floating floors from 24 hours, and direct-stick timber flooring from 72 hours. It bonds to new and existing concrete as well as ARDEX A 38, ARDEX A 48 and ARDEX K 900 BF primers and substrates, giving it a genuinely wide range of compatible sub-floors on a typical renovation or new-build job.
Being suited to ceramic tiles in dry areas as well as carpet, resilient flooring and timber means the same bag can prep a sub-floor ahead of several different final flooring types, which is a genuine convenience on a job covering more than one room or floor covering. The 20kg triple-layered bag keeps the grey powder protected from moisture on site until it’s ready to be mixed and poured.

Where to Use
- Internal concrete sub-floor preparation
- Ahead of carpet, resilient flooring, timber and coatings
- Ceramic tiles in dry internal areas
How to Apply
- Prepare the substrate — ensure new or existing concrete is clean, sound and free of contaminants.
- Prime if required — use ARDEX A 38, ARDEX A 48 or ARDEX K 900 BF as appropriate to the substrate.
- Mix the compound — combine the 20kg bag with water to a smooth, pourable consistency.
- Pour and spread — apply to the required depth between 3mm and 30mm.
- Allow to cure — walkable immediately; follow the specific cure time for the intended floor covering before installation.
Important Notes
- For internal use only.
- Suitable for dry areas — not intended for wet-area or external applications.
- Cure times vary by the intended floor covering; confirm the correct wait before installing carpet, resilient flooring, timber or floating floors.
