Description

Hidden Valley Allrounder Potting Mix is a general-purpose potting mix for pots, tubs and planters. It covers everyday container planting, such as herbs, vegetables, flowering annuals and small ornamental shrubs, without buying a specialist mix for each.

It is part of the Hidden Valley range from Ki-Carma Garden Products, supplied in a 25 litre bag. Plants with particular needs, such as orchids or phosphorus-sensitive Australian natives, are better served by a mix made for them.

Potting mix breaks down and loses structure over time, so refresh or replace the mix in long-term pots every season or two. Check the drainage holes at the same time, since blocked drainage causes problems a fresh mix will not fix.

Warning: potting mix may contain Legionella bacteria, which can cause Legionnaires’ disease, a serious and sometimes fatal lung infection. Wear gloves and a P2 mask, open bags away from your face in a ventilated area, keep the mix damp, and wash your hands after use.

Frequently asked questions

What is Allrounder Potting Mix used for?

Potting up herbs, vegetables, flowering annuals and small ornamental shrubs in containers, as one general-purpose mix instead of a specialist mix for each.

Is it suitable for vegetable pots as well as ornamentals?

Yes. It is a general-purpose mix, so it suits edible and ornamental container plants alike; feed heavy-cropping vegetables through the season.

How often should potting mix be replaced?

Refresh or replace it every season or two for long-term pots, because the organic matter breaks down and the mix loses structure over time.

Do I need to wear a mask?

Warning: potting mix may contain Legionella bacteria, which can cause Legionnaires’ disease, a serious and sometimes fatal lung infection. Wear gloves and a P2 mask, open bags away from your face in a ventilated area, keep the mix damp, and wash your hands after use.
