Description
Cement Australia GP Cement is a general purpose cement that complies with AS 3972, General purpose and blended cements, as Type GP. Cement Australia makes it in Australia.
It is a binder rather than a stand-alone product: mixed with sand and aggregate it makes concrete, and mixed with sand, often with lime, it makes mortar and render. Cement Australia lists it for concrete, grout, mortar, render, domestic construction and structural concrete.
Follow the mix design or specification for the job. Keep bags sealed, off the ground and dry until you mix them.

- Store sealed and dry: keep off the ground and away from moisture.
Important Notes
- Wet cement is alkaline and can burn skin and eyes. Wear gloves, eye protection and a P2 mask, avoid breathing dust when opening or mixing, and wash it off skin promptly. See the Safe Work Australia guidance on cement and silica dust.
- Cement dust can contain crystalline silica. Avoid breathing the dust, and wear a P2 mask when opening and mixing bags.
- Type GP general purpose cement to AS 3972.
- Always combined with sand (and aggregate for concrete).
- Store sealed and dry to prevent premature setting.
