2455.2.2019 “Textile Floor Coverings Installation Practice” & “Floor Coverings 1884-
2021 Resilient Sheet & Tiles – Laying & Maintenance Practices”. - All surfaces to be bonded shall be absorbent, dry, smooth, sound, and
clean. - Subfloors must also be free of wax, grease, paint, previously used
adhesive, polish, PVC-based membranes, curing compounds, hydrostatic pressure and
any other impurities that may affect adhesion. - The minimum subfloor temperature before commencing surface preparation
and adhesive application is 10°C. - ROBERTS R95 High Tack Carpet Adhesive can be applied to concrete
substrates with up to 85% moisture content. - Relative Humidity is tested with the In-Situ Probe method as outlined in
ASTM F2170. - Test all concrete substrate flooring for moisture content according to
Australian Standards and Manufacturers Recommendations. - ROBERTS R95 High Tack Carpet Adhesive can be used on concrete substrates
with pH readings up to 10.0. - If mechanical preparation is required, prepare the floor using
recommended techniques such as shot blasting and diamond grinding to provide a
roughened, clean, sound, and open porous surface. - Thoroughly vacuum loose material and dust.
- Before applying adhesive, it is recommended that highly absorbent
concrete subfloors be primed with ROBERTS R48 UNIVERSAL PRIMER floor and wall primer
before using adhesive. - Indentations and uneven concrete subfloors should be treated with the
ROBERTS RANGE OF LEVELLING COMPOUNDS per the manufacturer’s recommendations. - Where temperatures are less than 5°C or higher than 35°C, please contact

APPLICATION:
- Apply adhesive with the recommended notched trowel.
- Recommended V Notching Sizes

lowered at temperatures more than 15°C. - In colder conditions, allow the adhesive to remain open until tack and
grab develop, then lower in the carpet/underlay into the wet film of adhesive. - Check to ensure transfer of adhesive to the carpet/underlay has
occurred. - Roll the finished installation with a 25-35kg roller.
- Complete the installation according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
