Soudal Pro Gaps – Exterior All Weather Flex Gap Filler

Pro Gaps Exterior is a highly flexible, exterior grade, paintable acrylic gap filler that cures to form an extremely durable seal. It is ideal for use as a gap filler for high stress applications and for external use due to superior flexibility and high weather resistance. Very easy to apply, colourfast and waterproof once cured. Can be painted after 30 mins.

Applications
- Joints with movement till max 12.5%
- Connection joints in building industry
- Finishing of seams and gaps on porous surfaces which need to be painted.
- Gaps between door frames and plasterwork or plasterboards.
- Joints on window sills, between plinths and walls, between masonry
- Finishing of various board and ceiling lists and decorative elements such as mouldings.
- For filling and repair of cracks and drilling holes in walls and ceilings (plasterboard, concrete, stone).
- Sealing skirting boards, cornices, window frames, staircases, architraves, trims and coving.

Shelf life
- At least 12 months in unopened packaging in a cool and dry storage place at temperatures between +5 °C and +25 °C. Protect against frost.
Substrates
Substrates:
- All usual porous building substrates, including timber, MDF, particle board, plywood, fibre cement sheet, plasterboard, concrete, masonry including brick and block work, cement render, tiles, ceramics, aluminium, etc.

- Rigid, clean, free of dust and grease, dry
Surface preparation:
- For optimal adhesion and in critical applications, we recommend to follow a pretreatment procedure.
- Prepare highly porous surfaces with a diluted Soudal Pro Gaps Exterior.
- Add 1 part Soudal Pro Gaps Exterior with 2 parts water.
- We recommend a preliminary adhesion and compatibility test on every surface.
Joint dimensions
- Min. width for joints: 5mm
- Max. width for joints: 20 mm
- Min. depth for joints: 5 mm
- Max. depth for joints: 10 mm
- Recommendation for sealing jobs: joint width = joint depth.
- Use PE backer rods before applying the sealant in large joints to avoid 3- point adhesion.
Application method
- Refer to the current Technical Data Sheet on our
website prior to use. - Do not apply when rain or frost is imminent during curing process.
Application method:
- With manual or pneumatic caulking gun.
- Finish with spatula or filling knife.
Cleaning:
- Clean with water or with Soudal Swipex, immediately after use.
- Cured Soudal Pro Gaps Fill & Paint can only be removed mechanically.
Finishing:
- With water before skinning.

- With the same material
Painting:
- Use sufficient flexible sealant when painting
Health and Safety Recommendations
- Take the usual labour hygiene into account.
- Consult label and material safety data sheet for more information.
Remarks
- Do not use in applications where continuous water immersion is possible.
- Paintable with most paints.
- The paint must be sufficiently elastic to allow application on a plasto-elastic sealant.
- Given the great diversity in available paints it is recommended to do a compatibility test prior to application.
- When using different reactive joint sealants, the first joint sealant must be completely hardened before the next one is applied.
