Description

Sikaflex PRO Sealant is a ready-to-use polyurethane sealant designed for movement and connection joints on porous substrates as well as general indoor and outdoor sealing applications. It bonds strongly to a genuinely wide range of building materials — brick, cement, ceramics, metals and timber — without requiring a primer in most cases, which is a real practical advantage over sealants that need substrate-specific priming before every application.

Once cured, it forms a tough, elastic seal with high weathering and ageing resistance, rated for a movement capability of ±25% under ASTM C 719 and able to accommodate expansion and contraction rates of 25% to 30% in building materials without cracking. That flexibility is what makes it genuinely suited to movement joints rather than just static gap-filling, where a rigid sealant would eventually fail as the joint moves.

Its ready-to-use, easy-to-gun formulation applies cleanly to vertical and horizontal surfaces without sagging, and it’s available across 11 colours — from neutral White and Off White through to Brick Red and Dark Amber — giving genuine flexibility to match surrounding building materials rather than being limited to a single generic shade. For critical, high-performance applications such as multi-storey buildings, highly stressed joints or water immersion, specific priming procedures using Sika’s own primer and activator range are recommended for optimum adhesion.

Where to Use

  • Movement and connection joints on porous substrates
  • Brick, cement, ceramics, metal and timber, interior and exterior
  • General building sealing applications, vertical and horizontal

How to Apply

  1. Prepare the substrate — clean, dry, sound and free from oils, grease, dust and loose particles.
  2. Prime non-porous substrates if required — using Sika Aktivator-205 and/or Sika Primer-3 N depending on the material.
  3. Prime porous substrates if required — concrete, aerated concrete and cement-based renders with Sika Primer-3 N.
  4. Apply with a caulking gun — gun the sealant into the prepared joint.
  5. Allow to cure — into a tough, elastic seal over the specified curing period.

Important Notes

  • Store in dry conditions, protected from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +25°C.
  • Allow the correct flash-off time after priming before sealing.
  • Contact Sika Technical Services for detailed advice on critical or high-performance applications.

Frequently asked questions

Does Sikaflex PRO need a primer?

Not in most cases — it bonds strongly to porous and dense substrates like brick, cement, ceramics, metals and timber without a primer. Optimum adhesion for critical applications, such as multi-storey buildings or highly stressed joints, uses a specific priming procedure depending on the substrate type.

How much movement can Sikaflex PRO accommodate?

A movement capability of ±25% (ASTM C 719), and it can accommodate expansion and contraction rates of 25% to 30% in building materials without cracking.

What colours is Sikaflex PRO available in?

11 colours: White, Off White, Sandstone, Pale Brown, Japan Beige, Grey, Dark Grey, Brick Red, Redwood, Black and Dark Amber.
