RLA Brushable Contact Adhesive
– 20 Litres
RLA Brushable Contact Adhesive is a high-quality, High solids brushable
grade solvent-based (flammable) rapid drying contact cement with high strength,
excellent ageing, and heat resistance. This adhesive has good heat resistance,
where similar adhesives can be adversely affected by plasticiser migration from PVC
products. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR EXTERIOR APPLICATION.
SUITABILITY:
RLA Brushable Contact Adhesive is designed for use on
most types of:
- Vinyls
- PVC skirtings/ extrusions
- Cover strips
- Plastic
- Metal treads nosing’s
- Decorative laminates
- MDF
- Wood
- Wood veneers
- Timber
- Plasterboard (Gyprock)
- Concrete
And most common Building substrates.
TYPICAL PROPERTIES:
- Appearance: Pale yellow
- Base: Neoprene Synthetic Rubber
- Solids: Approx. 25%
- Viscosity: Thin Brushable Liquid
SURFACE PREPARATION:
- To be by the current Australian Standard “Floor Coverings
1884-2021 Resilient Sheet & Tiles – Laying & Maintenance Practices.” - All surfaces should be dry, smooth, sound, clean and free of wax,
grease, oil, previously applied adhesive, and other contaminants. - Priming is only generally required when installed on Highly porous
subfloors. - If priming is required, use RLA PU95, or RLA Universal Primer.
APPLICATION:
- Apply adhesive liberally with a brush, roller, or notched trowel.
- Both bonding surfaces must be coated evenly and allowed to dry
until ‘touch dry”. - This will take a minimum of 5-10 minutes at 20°C.
- Both surfaces should be joined within 30 minutes of application.
- RLA Sprayable is designed for use with all conventional solvent spray
equipment using suction feed or pressure pot equipment.
CLEAN UP:
- To clean up equipment and adhesive spills, use a suitable cleaning
solvent.
COVERAGE:
- 5-7m2 per litre
SHELF LIFE/STORAGE:
- 12 months when stored in original unopened packaging
- To be stored in a dry area off the ground.

HIGHLY FLAMMABLE:
- Contains 30-60% Liquid Hydrocarbons
IN CASE OF FIRE:
- In the case of FIRE, use foam to extinguish.
- Firefighters should wear full protective clothing and self-contained
breathing apparatus.
SAFETY AND HANDLING:
KEEP AWAY FROM HEAT/SPARKS/OPEN FLAMES/HOT SURFACES/NO SMOKING
- Ground/bond container and receiving equipment.
- Use explosion-proof electrical /ventilation/lighting
equipment. - Use only non-sparking tools.
- Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
- Keep the container tightly closed.
- Wear suitable respiratory protection.
- Use in well-ventilated areas.
- Avoid breathing vapours
- Persons who are sensitive to odours and chemicals should avoid the work
area. - Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
- Wear eye protection and suitable gloves and clothing.
- Do not eat, drink, or smoke while using this product.
- If on the skin, wash with plenty of soap and water.
- If in the eyes: rinse cautiously with water for several minutes.
- Remove contact lenses; if present, continue rinsing.
- If any skin or eye irritation persists or you feel unwell, get medical
attention.
FIRST AID:
- If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre.
- For advice or if you feel unwell, contact a Poisons Information Centre:

New Zealand ph. 0800 764 766 or a doctor at once. - If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting. Give a glass of water.
- IF SWALLOWED, immediately call the Poisons Information Centre or a
doctor. - IF ON SKIN Remove immediately all contaminated clothing and wash skin
with soap and water. - If skin irritation occurs, get medical advice/attention.
- IF IN EYES Rinse carefully with water for several minutes.
- If eye irritation persists, get medical advice/attention.
