Description
Overhead and vertical repairs call for a paste that stays where it is put. Megapoxy PM is a non-sag, two-part filling and adhesive paste with a simple equal-parts mix, listed by the manufacturer for bonding precast concrete, metal, natural stone, brick and ceramics, and for filling concrete and fibreglass.
The TDS describes it as very low in volatile organic compounds and lists it as adhering and curing under adverse conditions (cold and damp). The TDS states that properly mixed product will not stain or discolour white or light coloured marble and ceramics.

Where to Use
The TDS lists these applications:
- Bonding precast concrete, bricks, ceramics, natural stones and compressed cement sheet
- Bonding metal to metal or concrete, and grouting bolts
- Flush-filling countersunk screws in fibre cement sheet
- Filling and repair of concrete pipes, tanks, floors, stairs and columns
- Repair of insitu formed concrete and fibreglass articles
How to Apply
- Prepare the surface: concrete must be free of grease and oil, with laitance removed by scabbling, grit blasting or grinding. For maximum adhesion the concrete should be surface dry. Grit blast metals to AS 1627.2.2002 or abrade to clean, bright metal, then degrease.
- Remove coatings: the TDS recommends removing all coatings before bonding.
- Measure and mix: combine equal volumes of Part A and Part B and mix until thoroughly blended. Work within 45 minutes at 25 degrees C.
- Apply and cure: apply to the prepared surface and allow at least the minimum cure time for the temperature.
- Clean up: use Megapoxy Thinners on mixing implements and tools, and wear disposable rubber gloves.
Safety and Handling
- The TDS says to use disposable rubber gloves to protect hands and maintain proper industrial hygiene.
- It states that the correct mixing ratio is essential and that Part A and Part B must be thoroughly mixed before use.
- The TDS gives a flash point above 200 degrees C and refers to the Megapoxy PM Safety Data Sheet for further details. The TDS itself gives no hazard statements, so check the Safety Data Sheet for skin, eye and ventilation precautions before use.
Important Notes
- Inaccuracies and poor mixing lower the physical properties of the cured system and, if the error is large enough, the system may not cure satisfactorily and may discolour on ageing.
- Wire brushing is described as not entirely satisfactory for metal, giving minimal adhesion only. Bonding to coated surfaces gives inferior bond strengths, so the TDS recommends removing all coatings.
