Description

Loba Viva 1K is a versatile, worldwide-proven water-based finish for parquet and wooden floors, built for normal to heavy traffic in residential areas and light commercial use. Its excellent chemical resistance, high abrasion resistance and genuinely good resistance to black heel marks make it suitable for real household and light commercial wear rather than just decorative light-traffic use.

Its powerful resistance to plasticisers migrating from parquet adhesives is what makes it a standout choice specifically for renovation and refinishing work over older timber floors — a lesser finish can discolour or soften as plasticisers work their way up through an old adhesive layer, while Viva 1K is formulated to resist exactly that failure mode. Combined with no-lap-marks application and full Connected Systems approval with LOBA’s own primers and adhesives, it’s a genuinely reliable choice for renovation projects specifically.

Its EMICODE EC1 certification for very low emissions is a genuine consideration for occupied residential and light commercial spaces, where off-gassing from a freshly finished floor can be a real concern during the drying period. The no-lap-marks application characteristic also matters in practice — a finish prone to visible lap marks between roller passes can leave an uneven, patchy sheen across a larger floor, while Viva 1K is formulated to blend those passes together for a consistent, even result.

How to Apply

  1. Prepare and sand the substrate — floor must be professionally sanded, dry and free of old coatings, oil, grease and wax.
  2. Transfer to a LOBA varnish bucket — before applying, and shake contents well.
  3. Apply by roller — spread evenly across the floor.
  4. Sand between coats if needed — recoat without sanding within the first 24 hours; sand if longer has passed.
  5. Allow to cure — light use after 24 hours, full use after 5 days.

Important Notes

  • Limit to a maximum of 2 roll applications per day to reduce swelling risk.
  • Drying times are valid for +20°C and 50% relative humidity — cooler or more humid conditions extend drying time.
