No commercial filler can match a floor’s own colour the way a filler made from that floor’s own sanding dust can — LOBA EasyFill turns the timber being repaired into the material doing the repairing.

Description

Loba EasyFill is a next-generation water-based binder for producing genuine wood filler on site, mixed with the finest available sanding dust from the specific floor being worked on rather than a pre-coloured generic filler. That approach is what gives it such a close colour match — the filler is quite literally made from the same timber it’s repairing, blended into a paste-like, silky putty at a recommended 1:10 ratio of sanding dust to binder.

Its fast drying and excellent sandability are genuine time-savers on a floor sanding job: fine joints can be sanded after just 15 minutes, letting the filling and fine-sanding stages happen in close sequence rather than stretching the job over an extra day. For larger joints or genuine damage from a renovation, overnight drying is recommended instead, and the process can be repeated for particularly large gaps.

Where to Use

  • Closing joints and small areas of damage on bonded parquet and hardwood floors
  • All common European and exotic wood types
  • Not generally suitable for old flooring with oversized, dirty joints or nailed/screwed wooden constructions

How to Apply

  1. Sand to medium grain — after the medium sand (e.g. 60 grain), before the fine sand (e.g. 100 grain).
  2. Mix the putty — combine EasyFill with the finest available sanding dust for the wood species, at roughly 1:10 by weight.
  3. Apply into joints — work the paste into joints and damaged areas, scraping the entire floor before fine sanding.
  4. Allow to dry — 15 minutes minimum for fine joints, overnight for larger renovation joints.
  5. Fine sand — completely sand away any remaining putty on the surface after drying.

Important Notes

  • The product is ready for use and must not be reduced or thinned.
  • For dark wood species, add Mixol universal tinting paint (200ml per 5L EasyFill) and mix sufficient quantity for a continuous surface to avoid colour deviation.
  • Optimal processing conditions are room temperature +15°C to +25°C with 40-75% relative humidity.

Making a floor’s own filler from its own sanding dust is a technique that’s easy to describe but genuinely effective in practice — no pre-tinted commercial filler can match the exact colour of the timber it’s repairing the way a filler literally made from that timber’s dust can. It’s part of why EasyFill is specified by flooring professionals over a generic pre-coloured wood filler on visible, high-quality timber floor jobs.

Frequently asked questions

How is Loba EasyFill mixed?

It’s mixed with the finest available sanding dust for the specific wood type to form a paste-like, silky putty — a mixing ratio of 1:10 by weight (sanding dust to binder) is recommended for a perfect colour result.

How long does EasyFill take to dry before sanding?

Fine joints can be sanded after no less than 15 minutes. Large or extreme joints from renovation work should be left to dry overnight. Surface treatment systems can be applied no sooner than 60 minutes after filling.

Can EasyFill be tinted for dark timber?

Yes — for dark wood species, Mixol universal tinting paint can be added (200ml Mixol to 5L EasyFill), with specific Mixol shades recommended for smoked oak/wenge-type timbers versus reddish species like jatoba or merbau.
