Clearing grout haze and sediment efficiently is the whole point of this kit — an 18 litre bucket, tri-roller and two sponge sizes give tilers a purpose-built system rather than improvising with a mop bucket and sponge.

Description

DTA Boss Grout Clean Up System combines an 18 litre trade plastic bucket with a tri-roller and sloping base specifically designed for the grout haze and sediment clean-up phase of a tiling job. Rather than just a plain bucket, the sloping base and plastic grid work together to help settle and clear sediment away from the working water, so a sponge doesn’t just redistribute dirty water and grout residue back over freshly-grouted tile.

The tri-roller does a similarly practical job, wringing excess water and sediment out of the sponge before it goes back onto the tile surface — a detail that makes a real difference to how clean and haze-free the finished grout lines look. Supplying two sponge sizes covers both broad-area work and finer detail cleaning from the one kit, rather than needing to source sponges separately.

The kit is built around genuine trade use rather than a single job: the 18 litre bucket, tri-roller and dual sponge sizes are sized for repeated grout clean-up across multiple rooms or a full house, not a one-off touch-up. Keeping the wash water fresh and matching sponge size to the area being cleaned both matter for the same reason — grout haze forms from sediment being redistributed rather than properly lifted away, so the sloping base and grid are only effective if the water itself is regularly refreshed during use.

Technical Specifications

Bucket type Trade plastic, contoured handle
Small sponge 280mm x 140mm
Large sponge 340mm x 180mm
Features Tri-roller, sloping base, plastic sediment grid

Where to Use

  • Grout clean-up and haze removal after tiling
  • Residential and commercial tiling jobs of varying scale
  • Both broad-area cleaning and detail work around edges and fixtures

How to Apply

  1. Fill the bucket — add clean water to the 18 litre bucket.
  2. Dampen the sponge — select the large or small sponge depending on the area being cleaned.
  3. Wipe the grout — clean grout haze and excess grout from the tile surface with the dampened sponge.
  4. Roll and rinse — draw the sponge across the tri-roller to remove sediment and excess water before re-wetting.
  5. Change water as needed — replace the bucket water once it becomes heavily loaded with sediment.

Important Notes

  • Regularly refresh the bucket water to avoid redistributing grout sediment back onto tile.
  • Use the correct sponge size for the area being cleaned for the most efficient result.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the bucket have a sloping base and grid?

They’re designed to help clear grout sediment away from the sponge as it’s rinsed, keeping the wash water cleaner for longer during a job rather than just re-spreading sediment back onto the tile surface.

What is the tri-roller for?

It helps remove grout sediment and excess water from the sponge as it’s drawn across the roller, reducing how much dirty water and haze gets left on the tile surface.

Why does the kit include two sponge sizes?

The larger 340mm x 180mm sponge covers broad areas efficiently, while the smaller 280mm x 140mm sponge suits detail work, edges and tighter spaces during grout clean-up.
