Description
CorkArt Traditional Cork Floating Flooring in Burl Finish brings the natural warmth, texture and sound-absorbing qualities of genuine cork to a fashionable, pre-finished floating floor plank. As part of the Cork Concept collection, it uses the shock and sound-absorbing characteristics cork is known for as the basis for a durable flooring product, finished with a high-resistance ‘Natural Shield’ water-based urethane varnish for genuine surface protection.
Installation uses the patented UNICLIC system — a tongue and groove mechanism that clicks panels together without any glue, making it a genuinely accessible glueless installation even for amateur installers. Each 900mm x 300mm x 10.5mm board covers 0.27m², with boxes of 7 boards covering 1.89m² total, giving straightforward quantity planning for a room once its area is known.
Sourced from CorkArt’s operations in Portugal, at the heart of the world’s cork oak forests, the flooring reflects cork’s genuine environmental credentials: 100% recyclable and biodegradable, harvested from a tree that regenerates without being felled, and requiring no chemical herbicides, fertilisers or irrigation to grow. As with any natural cork product, expect genuine variation in shade and pattern between boards rather than a perfectly uniform, manufactured look.
Because cork’s natural insulating and sound-dampening properties come from its cellular structure rather than an added layer, those benefits are inherent to the material itself and don’t diminish over the life of the floor the way a surface-applied acoustic treatment might. That makes CorkArt genuinely well suited to apartments, multi-storey homes or any space where both comfort underfoot and noise reduction between floors are real priorities.

Where to Use
- Residential floors over hard, dry, level subfloors
- Spaces wanting genuine thermal, acoustic and vibration insulation
- Environmentally conscious renovation and new-build projects
How to Apply
- Acclimatise the flooring — store inside its original packaging at room temperature for at least 48 hours before laying.
- Prepare the subfloor — even, dry, flat and clean, with a polyethylene sheet over cement or damp-prone subfloors.
- Plan the layout — measuring the room and planning perimeter and last-row board widths.
- Install using the UNICLIC system — clicking panels together without glue.
- Allow expansion joints — 10-15mm at walls and fixed objects.
Important Notes
- Do not install over carpet or other soft sub-floors.
- Do not fix the floating floor to the subfloor.
- Mix planks from several cartons for a balanced overall appearance.
