Description

Sandstone is a natural feature rock carrying warm, earthy tan tones and an irregular shape, supplied in a 50-150mm range. It suits gardens that lean on natural colour, where a natural sandstone finish suits better than a uniform crushed aggregate.

As a stone it does not break down like an organic mulch. Laid over a prepared base, typically with weed mat underneath, it is a low-maintenance ground cover. Individual stones vary in size and shape within the range.

How to Apply

  1. Prepare the base – level the soil and lay weed mat, overlapping the joins.
  2. Spread the stone – lay about 100mm deep, covering the mat fully.
  3. Check the coverage – aim for consistent depth so the mat does not show through.
  4. Top up – add stone where it has settled or been displaced.
