Description
Pine Bark 10mm is a light, natural mulch with a soft texture, chipped to a fine 10mm grade that suits most garden beds and planting styles. Its natural, undyed colour sits easily alongside established plants.
Like any bark mulch, it helps the soil hold moisture and makes it harder for weed seedlings to establish. As it breaks down it adds organic matter to the soil beneath.
It is light and easy to handle and spread. For open beds and tree rings, the coarser Pine Bark 20mm grade has larger pieces and breaks down more slowly.

Where to Use
- General garden beds across most planting styles
- Beds where a natural, undyed mulch is preferred
- Smaller plants and beds seen up close
How to Apply
- Prepare the bed: clear existing weeds and debris before mulching.
- Spread to 50 to 75mm: its light weight makes it easy to spread evenly.
- Keep clear of plant stems: avoid piling mulch against trunks or stems.
- Water in: a light watering helps settle the mulch layer.
- Top up as needed: check depth each year and top up where it has thinned.
Important Notes
- Keep mulch clear of direct contact with plant stems and tree trunks.
- Pickup only from our Keilor East yard (Melbourne). Sold loose by the cubic metre in quarter-m3 steps; part loads of a quarter, half and three-quarter cubic metre are available.
- Mulch is light: a cubic metre weighs roughly 300 to 400 kg, so a full load suits most box trailers. Cover it with a tarp for the drive home.
- For open beds and tree rings, the coarser Pine Bark 20mm grade stays put better and breaks down more slowly.
