Description
Max Bond 006 Sports Surface Adhesive
– 20 Litre Pail
Max Bond 006 Sports Surface Adhesive is a solvent based synthetic grass and
external sports surface adhesive for outdoor application. With excellent early
bond strength, it prevents edge curling and resists water and weather
deterioration.
Recommended For:
- Non stretch open weave polypropylene backed synthetic grass
- Needle punch polypropylene carpet
- Suitable for use over concrete, exterior grade timber, cured asphalt and paved surfaces
Surface Preparation:
- All phases of the installation should comply with the current
Australian Standard AS1884 & AS2455. - The subfloor must be clean, structurally sound, dry and free from all
contaminants, which will inhibit good adhesion – this includes previously used
adhesive and floorcoverings, polishes, paint, waterproofing membranes, concrete
curing agents and laitance (laitance being the dusty unstable toppings of poorly
or insufficiently cured concrete). - Deep indentations and cracks should be treated with the appropriate
cementitious screed in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
Coverage:
- Approximately 1.6m² / litre when adhesive is evenly spread with a 3.2mm
V-notch trowel
Application:
- Apply adhesive using a ‘V’ notched trowel spreader.
- Dimensions of notchings should be such as to provide a minimum (80%)
coverage of adhesive to the back of the floorcovering. - As most synthetic grass and fibre bonded carpets have highly textured
backings, a deep 3.2mm to a 6mm ‘V’ notching is strongly recommended. - For hard to hold carpet, or when installing over low absorbent
substrates, it is necessary to allow a longer tack up time. - Always check & ensure good transfer of adhesive to the back of the
carpet. - Roll within 1 hour of laying.
- Do not use in rain or if rain is expected during or immediately after
laying. - Do not allow heavy traffic within 24 hours if installation.
- Refer to AS/NZS2455.1-2007 “Textile Floor Coverings – Installation
Practice” for further preparation and installation details.
Clean Up:
- Trowels and other tools may be cleaned with MAX BOND SC Solvent
Cleaner
