Description
Weld-Aid Weld-Kleen HD Anti-Spatter is a heavy duty base metal treatment that’s solvent based and quick drying, built specifically to protect parts, clamps, tooling and fixtures from the spatter that builds up during welding work. Rather than letting weld spatter fuse directly onto the surfaces it lands on, Weld-Kleen HD’s treatment keeps that spatter from bonding, making clean-up genuinely faster and less labour-intensive than scraping or grinding fused spatter off unprotected tooling.
Being non-flammable is a genuine safety advantage in a welding environment already dealing with sparks, heat and open flame, avoiding the extra fire risk a flammable anti-spatter product would add to the workspace. Its quick-drying formula means treated fixtures and clamps can be put back into service without a long wait, keeping a welding job moving rather than being held up by the protective treatment itself.
The formula also accepts pre-heating and can be used as a paintable spray, giving genuine flexibility for jigs, fixtures and tooling that need to go through additional heat treatment or repainting as part of a broader fabrication workflow, rather than being limited to a single-use protective coating.
Because it’s paintable once the welding and cleanup work is done, treated fixtures and tooling don’t need to be stripped back before returning to a painted finish, keeping the workflow genuinely efficient. That combination of speed and safety makes it a genuinely practical addition to a welding workshop’s regular toolkit, rather than a specialist product reserved for occasional heavy-duty jobs only. Its solvent-based chemistry is chosen specifically to dry quickly under normal workshop conditions, so treated fixtures don’t sit idle waiting for the anti-spatter coating to set before welding can begin.

Where to Use
- Welding clamps, jigs and fixtures
- Tooling exposed to weld spatter
- Parts requiring protection before welding work nearby
How to Apply
- Clean the surface — ensure the part or tooling is free of existing contamination.
- Spray an even coat — apply the anti-spatter treatment to the surface to be protected.
- Allow to dry — the quick-drying formula sets ready for use.
- Weld as normal — spatter will not bond firmly to the treated surface, making clean-up easier afterward.
Important Notes
- Use in a well-ventilated area.
- Refer to the product’s Safety Data Sheet for full handling and hazard information.
- Non-flammable, suited to use in an active welding environment.
