Description

Single-pack concrete paints are easy to use but most fade, chalk or peel in Australian sun. Stellmann Aqualine MA DIY uses a self-crosslinking methacrylic resin that resists both UV and the alkaline attack that turns ordinary acrylics soapy, which is what sets it apart from other one-pack floor coatings. It is water-based, low odour and diluted with water rather than thinners.

For indoor residential concrete and light to medium-use commercial floors it is the simpler of the two Aqualine systems: no hardener to weigh, no primer on concrete, and a P3 slip rating to AS 4586 when Stellmann Non-Slip Particles are added to the finish coat.

Important Notes

  • Start applications in the later morning and avoid late-afternoon starts so the coating dries before dew.
  • Do not apply over water-repellent nano treatments or oil-based coatings.
  • Bright colours may need an additional coat; this product is supplied in Light Grey only.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Aqualine MA DIY and Aqualine PU PRO?

Aqualine MA DIY is a single-pack methacrylic for light to medium-use areas such as home garages, cellars, stairs and walkways, and reaches P3 with particles. Aqualine PU PRO is a two-pack polyurethane for medium to high traffic, with greater chemical and mechanical resistance and P4 or P5 ratings.

How much does a 10 litre pack of Aqualine MA DIY cover?

The theoretical spreading rate is 5 to 7 square metres per kilogram per coat. Two coats are standard, with the first diluted 20% with water, so check the pack against your floor area at two coats.

Can I make Aqualine MA DIY non-slip?

Yes. Add 3% by weight of Stellmann Non-Slip Particles to the finish coat for a P3 rating to AS 4586. For P4 or P5, use Stellmann Aqualine PU PRO instead.
