Description
Soudal Genius is a one-component, self-expanding PU foam built around its own patented Genius Gun adaptor system, giving significantly more control and comfort during application than a standard straw-nozzle expanding foam can. That precision matters on real jobs — an imprecisely dosed foam either underfills a gap or over-expands and needs trimming back, and the Genius system is specifically designed to reduce both.
Once cured, it shows excellent dimensional stability with less than 3% shrinkage and less than 1% expansion after curing — genuinely stable compared with cheaper foams that can shrink noticeably as they age. Being HCFC- and CFC-free and freon-free for the ozone layer, while still delivering high thermal and acoustic insulation (58dB sound insulation, 37 mW/m·K), gives it real environmental credentials alongside its performance figures.

Where to Use
- Insulating around pipes and electrical wiring
- All foam applications in static and non-static joints
- Filling cavities and sealing openings in roof constructions
- Applying a sound-absorbing layer or improving thermal isolation in cooling systems
How to Apply
- Shake the can — shake thoroughly before use.
- Attach the Genius Gun adaptor — connect for precise, comfortable dosing.
- Fill the gap — apply foam into the joint or cavity, allowing for expansion during curing (approx. 117%).
- Allow to skin — skin forms in around 7 minutes; avoid disturbing before this point.
- Trim once cut-time ready — trim excess foam after approximately 25 minutes.
Important Notes
- Not UV-resistant — protect from prolonged sunlight exposure once cured.
- Does not adhere well to PE, PP or PTFE surfaces.
- Fast curing — dose accurately and promptly using the Genius Gun system.
The dimensional stability figures matter more than they might seem on a real job: a foam that shrinks noticeably after curing can pull away from the joint edges over months, reopening the gap it was meant to seal, while excessive post-expansion can bow surrounding materials like door and window frames. Genius’s sub-3% shrinkage and sub-1% post-expansion keep it doing exactly the job it was applied for, long after the installer has moved on to the next task.
