Description
Roberts R6355 is a high solids, water-based one-part crosslinking PVA meeting the D3/BS EN204 specification, designed to bond a wide range of timbers, MDF, particle board and ply with rapid, high strength bonds resistant to heat and moisture. That D3 water resistance rating is what separates it from a standard PVA — it holds up to occasional short-term water exposure and elevated humidity rather than softening the way a basic interior-grade PVA can.
It’s an ideal product for bonding tongue and groove solid timber and laminated flooring, where a crosslinking chemistry gives genuinely stronger, more durable joints than a non-crosslinking PVA once fully cured. Open time can run up to 20 minutes at 20°C depending on temperature, humidity, timber type and the amount of adhesive applied, giving a reasonable working window to position and clamp assemblies before the adhesive begins to set.
Maximum bond strength is reached within 48 hours, with the adhesive itself fully cured in 5-7 days. Assemblies are best left overnight before moving, and any squeeze-out should be wiped away immediately with a dry or slightly damp cloth, since the crosslinking chemistry that gives it strength also makes cured adhesive genuinely harder to remove than a standard PVA.
Because it’s a crosslinking formula rather than a standard PVA, R6355 is genuinely better suited to structural flooring joints than a basic woodworking glue, where the combination of heat resistance and moisture tolerance matters over the working life of an installed timber floor. That extra durability is exactly why it’s specified for tongue and groove flooring work rather than general cabinetry or furniture assembly.
