- If mechanical preparation is required, prepare the floor using recommended methods such as shot blasting and diamond grinding to provide a roughened, clean, sound surface.
- Thoroughly vacuum loose material and dust.
- Test all concrete substrates for moisture content.
- The relative humidity of the concrete must be measured as per the AS1884-2021 Australian Standard and the In-Situ Probe method ASTM F2170.
- ROBERTS R280 HT Adhesive may be applied onto concrete substrates with moisture content up to 85% relative humidity tested based on:
- The alkalinity of the concrete must not be higher than 10(pH)
- Subfloors must also be free of hydrostatic pressure.
- Curing time is related to temperature; this product should not be applied at temperatures below 10°C.
PRIMING OR INSTALLING ANY FLOOR COVERINGS.
- Priming is only generally required when installed on overly porous subfloors.
- If priming is required, use Roberts R48 Universal Primer
- Indentations and uneven concrete subfloors should be treated with the Roberts Product range of levelling compounds and by the manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Where temperatures are less than 10°C or higher than 30°C, please contact RLA Technical department for further details.
APPLICATION:
- For the application of Vinyl, Vinyl Planks and Vinyl Composite Tiles, it is recommended that adhesive be spread with a 1.6mm x1.6mm “V1” notched trowel.
- For Some Vinyl Planks with a textured or embossed backing; it is recommended to apply the adhesive with a 2.4mm x 2.4mm ‘V2″ notched trowel.
- Apply only the amount of adhesive that can be covered within the short open time of the adhesive.
- Allow adhesive to have an open time – generally 5 minutes at 20°C before lowering the floorcoverings into the WET Film of adhesive and roll to ensure transfer has occurred.
- Tack-up time will depend upon atmospheric conditions and substrate absorbency.
- Complete installation according to the floorcoverings manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring the installation is rolled in both directions with the recommended roller weight before the adhesive setting.
- Do not allow heavy traffic for 24 hours.
NOTE: For installations in front windows or that are exposed to direct sunlight, please ensure the area is shaded during installation and is in accordance with the relevant Resilient Floorcoverings Australian Standards.
